The system architecture is based on the latest developments in personal computer and industrial communication network technology.
The ABB SACE devices are connected to the serial bus (Modbus) RS485. A maximum of up to 31 devices can be connected to a bus. A maximum of up to 4 serial bus can be connected to a personal computer which acts as server, reading and storing the data received from the devices.
The server is also used as the operator station, from where the data can be displayed and printed, commando can be sent to the devices, and all the operations needed to manage the installation can be carried out.
The server can, in any case, be connected to a local network together with other personal computers which act as additional operator stations (customers). In this way, installation supervision and control can be carried out with complete reliability from any station connected to the network on which SD2000 is installed.
