2010-03-10 - ABB reconfirming its leading position in the wind dry transformer market in China
ABB China’s first water-cooling dry transformer successfully rolled off the production line end of Jan, 2010 in Shanghai. It is the success cooperation between Shangai and the Spanish factory in Zaragoza and marks an important milestone for dry transformer business in China.
On November 20, 2009, ABB Shanghai Transformer Co., Ltd. (CNTDS) signed a contract with (Chongqing) Haizhuang Windpower Equipment Co., Ltd. of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC), to supply water-cooling dry-type transformer for intertidal zone 2 MW wind-driven generator. This transformer will be applied to the 2 MW wind generating set for country-level intertidal zone test wind field in Rudong, Jiangsu Province. It will be placed in the wind tower, which requires a special water-cooling system to emit heat out of the tower by exchanging with water.
As this is the first water-cooling transformer of CNTDS, an international technical cooperation was carried out between CNTDS and Zaragoza engineering department- which has the water-cooling transformer experience.
