Hanover, April 23, 2012 - The HVR-63 generator breaker is a design enhancement of the field-proven HGI series of generator breakers. It is particularly well-suited for retrofit jobs in power plants with unit ratings of up to around 120.
Thanks to its open construction and its minimized space requirement, the HVR-63 ideal for use in systems with non-enclosed busbars and short-circuit currents of up to 63 kA. There are two versions available: der HVR-63XS with rated currents of up to 6,300 A, and the HVR-63S with rated currents of up to 8000 A. Both models, moreover, score highly in terms of optimum flexibility for conductor connections.
The integrated direct contact erosion indicator is an entirely new functional feature that further upgrades safety and dependability. This is particularly important for power plants with frequent switching operations, in pump storage power plants, for example. Once again, ABB is here setting new standards in the development thrust for modern-day generator breakers.
