Doing Business with ABB - Supplier Qualification & Requirement

What ABB expects from suppliers

Optimisation of our global supply base is a key element of our global Supply Chain Management strategy.

It is ABB’s responsibility to clearly communicate performance requirements to the supply base. This will allow suppliers to make improvements in key areas to better support ABB’s customer requirements.

ABB has created two primary documents to define what is necessary for a supplier to become qualified to supply to ABB, the Supplier Requirements and the Supplier Code of Conduct.

The Supplier Requirements is the standard ABB document that describes what ABB is expecting from suppliers.

The Supplier Code of Conduct is a summary of the ethical, social & environmental principles which ABB requires our suppliers to follow.

Potential suppliers will be requested to fill in the Supplier Qualification Questionnaire, and attach scanned evidences and documents requested in the spreadsheet.

Key suppliers may also be required to submit a Process/Product control plan and participate in an audit of their process using the Process audit questionnaire.

ABB in partnership with Achilles, a global service provider managing supplier pre-qualifications, is improving the ABB supply base management processes. In mid-year 2013 a new supplier qualification process will be implemented. More information will soon be available on this page.
